Defines the default value for both attributes and elements. When specified for an attribute definition, the value of the 'default' attribute will be the value provided by the schema processor if the element in the instance document does not provide a value for the attribute itself. When specified for an element, the value of the 'default' attribute will be assigned as the element content if the element exists in the instance document and the element in the instance document is empty.
